Fleet Gauge - Ideal for Sales Professional or Technician.
Designed for fleet maintenance programs, this tool eliminates the “guesswork” by the technician for change point. It allows you to immediately assess brake lining remaining to determine whether replacement is due or to know if you are at the 50% wear point or greater for resale or trade spec purposes.
Fleet Gauge is a “Go-No-Go” brake lining assessment tool that standardizes the decision making process on brake replacement. This tool has a “Change Point” indicator and a “50% Wear Point” indicator. This tool will also give you a quick reference on maximum drum wear that is allowed, so you can ensure vehicle safety in a fast & cost efficient manner.
* NOTE! Some dust shields do not have the inspection slot lined up with the gap between the shoes. On those types either dust shield removal is required or a 7/8" hole needs to be drilled at the gap between the pads the first time.
All gauges will give you a quick reference on maximum drum wear that is allowed so you can ensure vehicle safety in a fast and cost efficient manner. These gauges are for quick reference and not a replacement for a micrometer.
The drum wear allowance on the standard drum is a maximum of 0.120”. The relief is half that measurement due to the fact that you are only measuring ˝ of the drum diameter wear.

How it Works:
You simply insert the tool between the brake shoe table and the drum at the space between the lining blocks. Brake lining remaining is immediately assessed - safely and accurately with no wheel or brake drum removal*, without releasing or backing off the brakes. If the tool slides in, no replacement is required at this time. With a good maintenance program in place, the brakes should make it to the next regularly scheduled maintenance inspection.
